Xiaomi has a message for these smartphone users

Xiaomi Mi A3 users, your wait for the latest version of Android OS, Android 10, has gotten longer. In a tweet, Xiaomi India’s brand lead Sumit Sonal said that the pending Android 10 update on Mi A3 devices has been delayed due to extended shutdown caused by coronavirus outbreak. He further added that the company will communicate the rollout plan very soon.

“…Over the past few days a lot of you have reached out to us regarding the pending Android 10 update on Mi A3. The update was scheduled for mid February but it has been delayed due to the extended shutdown due to the global outbreak of coronavirus. At Xiaomi, business is critical but the value of human life is the topmost priority. We are working towards getting the final certification on the update and will communicate the rollout plan very soon. I thank each one of you for your patience and continued support,” goes Sonal’s tweet.

Xiaomi’s Mi A smartphone lineup in India runs on stock Android operating system. The first Mi A series phone, Mi A1, launched in 2017. It was followed by Mi A2 in 2018 and Mi A3 in 2019.

Xiaomi Mi A3 received an official price cut in January this year. Both the variants of Mi A3 became cheaper by Rs 1,000. The base variant that offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is now available at Rs 11,999, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option is selling at Rs 14,999.

The smartphone runs on Android Pie right now.

Xiaomi Mi A3 is part of Google’s Android One initiative just like Nokia-branded handsets from HMD Global. The company has the best track record in terms of rolling out latest Android updates to its handsets across price range.

On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Mi A3 offers a 6.08-inch HD+ screen of 1560x720p resolution with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. Being part of Google’s Android One initiative, Xiaomi Mi A3 runs on stock Android 9.0 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

Colour options include Not Just Blue, More Than White, and Kind of Grey. Xiaomi Mi A3 is backed by a 4,030mAh battery with up to 18W support. The phone features an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
